DRI Update: 7 January 2000

1. Now that we should have recuperated from SAX99 and the holidays, it is time to look ahead to the next DRI workshop. I would like to hold the next workshop here at APL-UW (or perhaps at a location nearby) in March to discuss the experiment, summarize the status of data analysis, and discuss future data analysis efforts. Regarding possible dates, I have had some input from the ONR folks, and holding the workshop during the weeks of March 6 or March 13 appears to work for them, with the week of March 13 preferred.

I would anticipate about a two-day workshop. However, I am investigating the possibility of holding the workshop at or near the Navy base in Bangor, and, if that can be worked out, some time will also be allocated for a tour of the facility.

Please let me know if you wish to attend the workshop. If so, please indicate if you have conflicts over the March 6-17 period, and if you have interest in a tour of the Navy base at Bangor. It would be useful to have a estimated count from each organization.

2. Near term activity for many of us will focus on preparation of two articles related to SAX99 for inclusion in an IEEE JOE Special Issue on High-Frequency Acoustics. I have CDs with the environmental data measured on the Seward Johnson and the Pelican. Please contact me if you wish to receive copies of any of these CDs.
